ULTRA SUNN: A light shines through the darkwave

ULTRA SUNN is a contemporary EBM/Coldwave/New Beat hailing from the vibrant underground scene of Brussels, Belgium, formed in late 2019 by frontman and multi-instrumentalist Sam Huge and keyboardist/producer Gaelle Souflet then joined on stage by keyboardist and percussionist Alexis Andrigo.

A Unique Alchemy of Influences

The duo crafts a sound that is both deeply personal and universally resonant. ULTRA SUNN’s music is a striking blend of EBM (Electronic Body Music), and New Beat, Post-Punk and blending characteristic techno elements with a deep appreciation for well-crafted, catchy pop melodies.
Heirs of the Sound of Belgium, sharing the stage with Front 242, A Split Second, and DAF, and collaborating with Front Line Assembly, their sound and vision remain decidedly modern and firmly rooted in the present. They also engage in collaborations with contemporary acts such as Twin Tribes, Kontravoid, and Curses.
The duo weaves pulsating beats, haunting synth lines, and Sam’s commanding baritone voice into anthems that feel timeless yet unmistakably modern. Their sound captures the tension between vulnerability and strength, making their music a refuge for those navigating the complexities of modern life.

From Brussels to the World

The duo’s journey began in 2019, when Sam and Gaëlle, who were then active in classical arts, archaeology, and fashion design, shared their love for electronic music and evocative storytelling, which sparked their creative journey.

Their debut single, "Keep Your Eyes Peeled," immediately caught the attention of fans and critics alike, establishing them as a fresh and formidable force in the darkwave scene. This true hit has now amassed over 30 million streams across various platforms, been played in countless clubs worldwide, and become an essential anthem haunting TikToks of cool kids and dance floors alike. When not setting clubs ablaze, it’s sung in unison with the band during their performances.

With each release, ULTRA SUNN has expanded their reach, transcending borders to connect with a global audience hungry for authenticity and emotional depth.
